FHKI Group 14 (Hong Kong Mould and Die Council) ("HKMDC") was thrilled to have participated in the International Exhibition on Plastics and Rubber Industries 2024 (CHINAPLAS), held from 23-26 April 2024, at Shanghai. The event received an overwhelming response.
This year was particularly significant as it marked the 10th consecutive participation of HKMDC in setting up the Hong Kong Pavilion at CHINAPLAS, and it also celebrated the 35th anniversary of the Council. For the first time, the Pavilion showcased a new image of HKMDC to the public and industry. It spanned a total area of 530 sqm, including a section of 140 sqm funded by the Trade and Industrial Organisation Support Fund ("TSF") from the Trade and Industry Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. An automatic live production line was also featured at the Pavilion, attracting a continuous stream of visitors who stopped by to watch and collect souvenir cups, demonstrating the Pavilion's theme of "Endless Possibilities, Infinite Value."
To honour this special occasion, a simple yet grand opening ceremony was held on the first day (23 April) of the exhibition. Mr Mike Cheung from the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Shanghai, Mr Stanley Chu, Chairman of Adsale Exhibition Services Limited, Ms Rita Chu, Vice-Chairman, and other distinguished guests participated in the ribbon-cutting ceremony, creating a vibrant scene.
During the exhibition (24-25 April), HKMDC held two seminars at the Hong Kong Pavilion. Representatives from Polyflow Hot Runner Technology Limited, Hongrita Plastics Limited, and Agile Silicone Limited shared the latest trends and technologies in the moulding industry with attendees.
Additionally, at the invitation of Adsale, the organizer, HKMDC hosted the "Empowering Product Quality with Advanced Moulding & Innovative Technology Symposium" on 25 April. Three prominent Hong Kong industry experts discussed the latest in moulding technology and industry developments. Topics included "Innovations in Mould and Plastic under New Industrialisation," "Efficient Solutions Utilising Multi-materials and LSR," and "Enhancing Product Value in Production Cycle with Advanced Injection Molding Solutions." The symposium attracted a large audience and facilitated an engaging exchange with the experts.
