The Hong Kong Mould and Die Council Souvenir Cup (“The Souvenir Cup” ) is the joint efforts of the 5 member companies of Hong Kong Mould and Die Council , naming Hongrita Plastics Ltd., Starlink Laser Technology Ltd., Glory Hill International Enterprise Ltd., 2KM Mucomac Multi Component Special Machinery (Guangzhou) Co., Ltd., and Multitech Machinery Ltd. The Souvenir Cup aims to showcase the cutting-edge technology of the Hong Kong mould and die industry in one single product.

The Mould

The Souvenir Cup is made of liquid silicone rubber, which requires a high-level multi-material injection moulding technique instead of single material or single colour injection technique. The Mould is provided by Hongrita Plastics Ltd.

Surface Treatment

The surface of the Souvenir Cup is treated with advanced five-axis laser engraving technology. The surface treatment consists of two parts - the upper part is a soft touch texture, which provides a matte appearance with silky feeling; the lower layer is treated with a hammer stone texture which provides a scratch-resistant surface and a natural texture. The surface treatment is provided by Starlink Laser Technology Ltd.

Material

The Souvenir Cup is made of highly transparent liquid silicone rubber from Shin-Etsu, Japan, which is generally used in automotive lights and LED components. The material provides high degree of light transmittance. The light transmittance of this material can endure the high temperature with very low yellowing rate. The material is provided by Glory Hill International Enterprise Ltd.

Mixing Machine

The mixing of raw materials is an important process in the liquid silicone moulding, especially in optical products, the 2KM equipment is able to accurately provide raw materials in proportion to the injection molding machine, which meets the requirements of transparency and hardness of the products. The mixing machine is provided by 2KM Mucomac Multi Component Special Machinery (Guangzhou) Co., Ltd.

The Injection Machine

In the production process, we must rely on the injection moulding machine with high stability and high control ability in order to produce efficiently and stably with high yield rate. The injection machine is provided by Multitech Machinery Ltd.

An automatic plastic injection moulding production line will be displayed in Hong Kong Pavilion set up by Hong Kong Mould and Die Council from 23-25 April 2024 during CHINAPLAS to demonstrate the craftmanship and production process of the Souvenir Cup, welcome all to visit as at Hall 5.2 booth G10 (2/F) !
